Chapter 456 The Cleansing Ritual Of Impurities

The question made Keng look at Lily. He had thought of a solution and he didn\'t really get an answer from her. Fan\'r\'s question came out with worry as a father and as someone who knew his duty as a warrior within the Village. Keng watched Lily, taking mental notes of what a Leader should be. He didn\'t really have anything to pull from Lee Seng\'s memories. Everything that was close to the word didn\'t match up to the text book definition he had in his head.

\'It\'s just a word to describe someone.\' Keng thought as he pulled the definition out to the forefront of his mind.

Leader /ˈlēdər/ - the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country.

Leader, a person who inspires passion and motivation in followers. Someone with a vision and the path to realizing it. Ensures their team has support and tools to achieve their goals.

The textbook definition was definitely someone who was in charge, but Keng was beginning to understand that a leader was more than that. Manny definitely was trying to be that for Lee Seng and the others. Fan\'r, Sir Gorrum, Elder Jyu\'so, the list could go on.

"Don\'t worry, Dad, I won\'t give up." Lily replied with determination. She gave him a nod as she looked to her brothers then to her Mother. "We got to protect Philip and the Village. I will hold out as long as possible for Keng to return. Then we can cleanse this Curse together, right?" She looked over to Keng, who gave her a thumbs up.

"Right. You can do this." Keng nodded. Lily beamed as she looked to Fan\'r. He looked like he wasn\'t totally convinced that his daughter was actually ready for what was to come. His eyes moved over to Keng. He had a hint of concern that every Father would have for their child.

p "Are you sure this is what\'s needed to be done?" Fan\'r asked Keng. Keng lifted the book and tapped it.

"Lord B\'haru\'s instructions were clear." Keng replied. "A light barrier will keep the Curse at bay for a couple of days at max. If Lily can do it, she should be able to barrier most places. This should keep the Curse at bay for awhile until I return. I will search for remedies to curing those who\'ve been afflicted by the Curse\'s energy and find any sort of spells that would help protect a whole Village in the process."

"What do you need us to do then?" Fan\'r asked.

"Dad do we really—" Winn began to speak when Fan\'r raised his hand to his lips, slightly turning to shush his son. Winn bit his lip as he kept his mouth shut.

"Make sure people don\'t wander too far from the Village. Lily should honestly just barrier buildings if she can, but at least Philip should be warded off. I would think a Curse would go for someone who\'s weak and easily influenced." Keng\'s eyes scanned the crowd. "So if you or anyone checks those out, be careful. I\'ll try to be back as soon as possible."

Fan\'r nodded and looked to his sons.

"You all know what you need to do then, right?" Fan\'r asked.

"Yes, sir." The Wang sons all answered.

"Good. Let\'s help Lily and Keng out. We\'ll need more eyes to figure out where this Curse is."

"Oh, I should mention one last thing." Keng raised his finger, drawing the attention back to him. "If you\'re not blessed with the Light, you won\'t be able to naturally see the Curse until it truly manifests itself onto someone or something. Lily and I are the only ones, I know of, that are blessed by that Light, so your best bet would to have Lily keep watch of anything strange.

"And Lily," Keng looked over at his subordinate. "If we had more time and I was a bit more competent, I would\'ve tested you to see what type of Savior you are. Lee Seng and I slightly differ when it comes to spotting Curses. I can hear the Curses before I see them. Lee Seng see\'s the Curses. You might detect them in your own way but even if you aren\'t meant to be suited for being a tracker, you should still be able to tell the difference between a Curse and an actual person, okay?"

"Y-yeah." Lily nodded.

"Good." Keng nodded looking over to Gorrum and Jyu\'so. "That\'s all I have, let\'s go before it\'s too late, Elder Jyu\'so, Gorrum."

"We will return in a couple of hours then." Gorrum spoke. "The Cleansing Ritual will take a couple of hours at least. I happened to find some sun soaked rocks from the Villagers. Maybe these will be enough?" Keng wandered over and looked at the stones. They were as big as Gorrum\'s fists.

"Yeah, I think so." Keng nodded.

"Then let\'s return. We\'re fighting time against a Curse that\'s lingering around." Elder Jyu\'so motioned. "I shall leave some Shadow clones here to assist you, Fan\'r. Command them however you wish." Shadows split from Jyu\'so\'s body and four Jyu\'so sized shadows bowed at Jyu\'so before turning to Fan\'r. "Let\'s go, you two."

Jyu\'so led Keng and Gorrum out of the building before extending his arm out and summoning a black portal. The three disappeared into it, leaving Lily and the others.

Keng and Gorrum stood outside as Jyu\'so dumped the pungent Moon Roots in their care.

"I\'ll handle the research while you two do the Cleanse." Jyu\'so told them.

"Alright, thank you, Elder." Keng replied.

"Let\'s get started." Gorrum motioned. The two headed into the bathroom and filled the huge circular rune with water. Keng cut the stinky Moon Roots and tossed them into the water while Gorrum chopped the Golem Fungus and threw it in. Keng tossed the blue leaves in and started to set the three sun soaked rocks at the top, bottom left, and bottom right while Gorrum poured the cleansing powder in.

The water shimmered as Gorrum pulled the note out of his pocket. Keng pulled his shirt and pants off and stepped into the water.

"And now you lay in the water. If the text is right, it should start cleansing your body of the Impurities blocking your Light." Gorrum read aloud. Keng sat down and glanced at the runic circle.

"It\'s a bit too small. Is there a way to expand the size of the circle?" Keng asked. Without much effort, Gorrum traced the rune and pulled it farther apart. The water rushed and grew thinner, filling the extra space.

"That should do for you." Gorrum spoke. Keng lowered himself and let out a nervous breath. "Her instructions were pretty vague so this is all up to you from here. I\'ll stay near until I\'m confident I can leave you to do this."

"Alright." Keng replied. The water began to ripple and move, creating a film of dim light. Keng felt the urge to fall asleep. "I\'m so… Sleepy…" His eyes slowly shut as the water pulled around his body, leaving space for his mouth and nose to breath. Gorrum watched as Keng began to glow. The ingredients dissolved as the rocks began to heat up. Water began to link itself to the rocks as steam started to form.

The sound of whispers grew loud as Keng\'s body lifted up into the air. His body turning ninety degrees in the air, hovering. A ripple of gravity flew outwards as Keng\'s tails began to wrap around him.

"What\'s happening now?" Gorrum whispered. The sun soaked rocks flew up and began to spin faster and faster, never moving past the enlarged space. The rocks began to move up and down as water began to pull from the air around.

Somewhere in Capitol City, Earth Realm

Eleven wandered the streets with a grin. People looked at him weird as he slipped through an alleyway. The sun was beginning to set as Eleven casually moved through the alleyway.

"He hasn\'t spoken since I came back. It\'s only been a short time, but I can\'t feel him." Eleven grinned. He moved with a spring in his step as he made it halfway through the alley. "What should I do? Should I feed on these poor souls?" He shook his head. "I shouldn\'t feed on them. I was told not to… Ugh, the Master is too boring. Why do I have to follow his orders? Because he can kill me? Ha, like he — ARGH!"

[The Cleansing Ritual of Impurities has been activated by Keng through Soul Connection. The Ritual will now start.]

Eleven toppled over onto his hands and knees as a strange burning feeling grew in his gut.

"What\'s… happening?!?" Eleven cried in pain. The pain surged, throwing himself onto his knees as he arched his back backwards. Water and light began to wrap around Eleven as he lifted up into the air.

"Argh!" Lee Seng\'s voice broke through Eleven\'s head. Lee Seng\'s Fox form erupted out of him as water wrapped around him. His white tails began to wrap around him as Eleven and Lee Seng\'s screams echoed through the alleyway as they pulled straight into the ground, disappearing.
